“Hallaien” is a Bergen-style hello – cheerful and warm, just like this playsuit.
Hallaien is our very first series, and it's knitted in mistake rib. Mistake rib is an elastic structure that gives the garment a soft and comfy fit that grows with the child – and it's much easier to knit than traditional brioche st.
The series includes a cardigan, a onesie, and this playsuit – which has quickly become a favorite! We love playsuits for babies: they keep the warmth where it's needed when the baby is lying and playing on the floor, and they also make perfect party outfits for special occations!
The pattern includes two options: one with long legs and a summery version with short legs – both work beautifully as dressy babywear.
The playsuit is worked bottom-up, starting in stockinette st, then continuing in mistake rib, with an i-cord edge along the top.
