We wanted to create a coming-home set that works just as well all year round, and we simply love hole patterns. Holes give the garment a playful yet clean look while making it both cozy and breathable — perfect for summer and winter babies, boys and girls alike.
Before we started designing our own patterns, we often found that in knitted cardigans, it was difficult to fasten the top button under the baby’s chin. That’s why we have included short rows at the back of the neck in our coming-home set, ensuring a better fit around the neckline.
The Raindrop Coming Home Set consists of a cardigan, trousers, and a bonnet, all knitted in a simple lace pattern. The cardigan is worked top-down in stockinette stitch, with raglan increases and short rows in the neck and over the bum. The button band is knitted simultaneously with the rest of the garment.
The trousers can be knitted with a ribbed waistband, which is especially comfortable for the smallest sizes. When the child starts moving around, an elastic casing at the waist will be more practical.
The bonnet is worked from the forehead towards the back, with I-cord ties for fastening.
